The speaker speaks for a few minutes, while the interpreter takes notes. After that the interpreter renders the speech in the target language. It is not suitable for multiple-hour events because it would make them too long. Furthermore, it is not advisable for meetings with a high number of participants.

Ideal during business negotiations, B2B, B2C. The interpreter translates every turn of the conversation between the parties.
Simultaneous
The interpreter sits in a soundproofed booth translating the speakers simultaneously in a conference. The public listen to the translation through headphones. It is mainly used during events with many participants.
Whispered
The interpreter sits next to the person whispering in his/her ear the translation simultaneously.
